Marsa Alam has many different diving spots, each with its own character — from beginner-friendly shallows to offshore reefs for advanced divers.
Elphinstone Reef
One of the best dive sites in Egypt for advanced divers. Depths to 45 m and a famously wide diversity of sharks.
Sha'ab Samadai
Perfect for all levels, with sites from 5 to 60 m. The Cathedral features two coral pillars forming an archway to swim through.
Marsa Aslaia
Sharks, dolphins and turtles surfacing to breathe. An unforgettable spot on a calm morning.
Hamada shipwreck
A cargo ship that sank in 1993 off Marsa Alam. Still intact, average depth 10 m — an excellent wreck for beginners.
Marsa Murein
Small but beautiful and popular, sitting at 14-25 m with an average visibility of 20 m.
Abu Dabab
An impressive tunnel to explore — 25 m deep and 500 m long — plus the resident dugongs and turtles.
Abu Sail
Entering the water through a small opening into a coral cave. A mix of soft and hard corals from 15 to 60 m.
Marsa Egla
Split into a shallow part from 3 to 10 m and a deep part from 10 to 25 m. Ideal for training and easy fun dives.
